Looking Ahead
We’ve made it to the final month of the year, and what an arduous journey it’s been. Many are reluctant to let their guard down to celebrate this milestone, and to be completely truthful, I don’t blame them. In the spirit of the times, I’d like to take this moment to encourage you to be proud of yourself. Be proud of the fact you’ve pushed through historically challenging days. Be proud of the fact you’ve refused to give up in spite of all that stood in your way. It’s easy to hold ourselves hostage to what we thought we’d accomplish.
As we reflect on the past 11 months, there’s much to be thankful for. For one, you’re still here. You may have taken a few licks along the way, but you’re still standing. As we look ahead to the new year, I ask that you be kind to yourself. Maybe you didn’t quite reach the goals you’d set for yourself in 2020, or perhaps you may feel like you’ve taken a few steps backward. Maybe you’ve gained a few pounds during quarantine, and don’t quite feel like yourself. Please don’t beat yourself up about these things. Extend grace to yourself. Don’t let the social media talking heads bully you into believing you’ve wasted this year because you didn’t do “what they did” during the quarantine. Everyone’s journey is different and uniquely there’s.
As we count down the days to the new year, I want you to remember that our life is a marathon. It won’t always be perfect and there will surely be challenges ahead, but you’re built to last. You’ve got what it takes to see your dreams come to pass. Dare to believe you‘re coming out of this year stronger than you’ve ever been before. While there is a collective uneasiness about what 2021 will bring, I ask that you take it one day at a time. I choose to believe 2021 is going to bring you extraordinary blessings, insight, and bountiful opportunities.
Happy Holidays
