New Beginnings
Five, four, three, two, one! Happy New Year! Celebratory cheers and bottle popping can be heard as people across the nation and the world alike, welcome a new year. In the heart of the moment, we embrace our families and friends with starry eyed looks as we look toward the future with hope. We’ve left 2019 in the past where it belongs and now we’re embarking upon a new exciting chapter. We’ve made it to another year and what blessing it is, indeed.
I love what a new year represents. It’s so much more than just a celebration. It’s a opportunity to start over again. It’s a new beginning. It’s exciting to know that we can impact the outcome of a year by how we approach the year from day one.
As we get acquainted with new possibilities for the new year, I’d encourage you to ask yourself these questions. What things were I most proud of in 2019? What things didn’t go so well? How do I plan to move forward? What can I do differently with what I know now? What new goals will I set and how will I achieve them? These are the questions I ask myself at the beginning of every new year. These questions help me take personal inventory. I also take the time to write down the lessons I’ve learned. That really helps me appreciate where I’ve been, and also helps to stay focus on the path I’m on in my business and personal life. I really encourage you to do the same. I also recommend creating a vision board of all the things you hope to achieve and acquire. There’s something to be said about having a vision. It really makes life flow with purpose.
I leave these encouraging words with you on the first day of the year. It’s a new season in your life and it’s okay if things didn’t go as planned in the prior year. Don’t beat yourself up over the missteps and mistakes you’ve made. We’re human, it happens. Choose to reignite your passion for life and go after the things you’ve set your heart on. Make self-respect, self-love and mental health a priority. Eat right, exercise and of course, drink your water. Smile often and forgive those who’ve wronged you, but never forget. Hold people accountable, including yourself. Be kind to yourself also, and remember all great things take time. Let us all expect great things this year. May all that went wrong, go right in 2020. May bountiful blessings, peace of mind and the realization of your deepest dreams lift your spirits. 2020 is your year. Let’s get it started!
